What is "Vertical Wind Tunnel"?
VWT is machine that produces a vertical jet, or column of wind. If this jet is fast and large enough, a person can float. Experienced flyers can perform an unlimited sequence of motions which can be acrobatic or dance like. Skydivers practice in VWT, which are also known as "Skydiving" or "Free Fall Simulator".

Why do people fly in VWT?
Flying is incredibly fun. It is an action sport comparable to in fact more fun than snow skiing or skating.

How long does it take to learn to fly?
Most people can master the basics of stable hovering in 5 to 10 minutes of actual flight time.

Is Body Flight good for you?
Flying is an excellent form of exercise. It's non-impact, incredibly fun, doesn't feel like you're working, and hurts later if you fly enough. It works most of the body at the same time including muscles that are usually ignored. Depending on a person's physical condition, 6 minutes of actual flight time in a day might be a good beginner's limit. Experienced flyers can fly hours per day.

Is it hard to breathe while flying?
Breathing is completely normal.

Why do skydivers use VWT?
Skydivers are typically limited to about 7 minutes of flight time per day - one minute per jump. In a VWT a skydivers can get hours of flight time per day. Flight time is the competitive edge. For a four way team, skydiving cost about 10 times as much per minute as using a VWT.

How high will a fly?
Beginners are kept at a comfortable height, usually below 5 feet. Intermediate fliers are restricted to 15 feet. Experienced flyers are restricted to 20 feet. Once you learn how to fly you can control how high you fly.
